Corporate Startup Lab Case Competition
Corporate Startup Lab held its first ever Case Competition in the Fall of 2022. Along with our sponsor, Optum Startup Studio, we presented a challenge to improve Health Equity for an underserved community. Although all the teams produced intriguing and comprehensive ideas, only three could take home the prizes.
First Place:
Vivetha from Colorado State University with team members Maya Fischer Helen Wick Alexis Rhyner, M.Sc. and Sohad Hammad winning the grand prize of $12,000!
First Runner Up: VetNav out of University of Pittsburgh featuring Conner Pulling Saket Bikmal and Hunsi Jayaprakash
Second Runner Up: From The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth the team featuring Megan Woody Sean Halloran Christopher Lites Zachary Panton and Kathleen Allen, MS, RD

THEME: Health Equity
One of the ongoing concerns in the healthcare industry is an imperfect realization of equity across all services and care. Fundamentals such as education, access, nutrition, and specialized care are not evenly distributed. The prompt of this Case Competition will seek to determine how a problem in Healthcare Equity can be solved through transformative innovation ideas, products, or services.
PRIZES:
The top three teams will receive cash prizes totaling $20,000!
$12,000 for 1st Place
$6,000 for 1st Runner Up
$2,000 for 2nd Runner Up
CALENDAR:

Registration closes 11:59PM September 23rd.
Teams will receive the full prompt at 12:00PM on September 28th.
First round submissions due at 11:59PM on October 3rd.
Finalists will be announced October 12th.
Final presentations will be given on CMU's campus on October 20th.
The Winner will be invited to present at the 2022 Corporate Entrepreneurship Forum on November 16th.
